Just in case you've been living under a rock these last couple of months, there's a cool mobile game called "Draw Something" which has come out and simply blown up.
A very simply asynchronous game which is perfect for the mobile platforms (Apple, Android) where you have to draw something (geddit?!) from a small list of words, submit the drawing and then have your mate try and guess it. Swap over and repeat. Lots of times.
So, I'm pretty addicted to this and with the latest update, it makes it easy to export your drawings. So that's what I've been doing and then sticking up on the tumblr I set up linked below.
The cool thing with tumblr is you can queue up posts so check back often - I currently have enough sketches to last up until Thursday!

The New Place...

So I picked up the keys for the new place on the 1st and it all felt a little odd. For two more weeks I am technically renting two places until I "flip" to the place in Bridgnorth, and strangely I had what can only be described as a moment of renter's regret. Looking around the new rooms, the thought crossed my mind that I've made a mistake and should perhaps have chosen somewhere else.
It is ultimately too late to change now but in fact it should be better - there are a handful of things which I will not be missing from Kidderminster.

I wanna be in America (Again!)

Long time no see Blog. Yes it's been a while, but at least 10 days of my absence can be accounted to my visit to America. It's been about a week since I got back, and well there's loads to blog about, but a combination of jetlag, work and general laziness means it's taken this long to post.

So you can expect my next few posts to cover the fun times that were had during my time in the US, although this post is tainted with sadness. The main reason (maybe joint with just visiting any part of the US in general) for my visit was my good friend Andy's wedding, and having received an invite last year, it's been something I've been very much looking forward to - in fact, I would go as far to say that it's was and has been the highlight of my 2009. The sadness comes that with the trip now over, I must return to my shitty existence with nothing obvious on the horizon to look forward to (There's the trip to France for Le Mans, but that's about it).

Trying not to feel down, it kinda feels like the start of a new year, or more accurately a restart. The break gave me an opportunity to refocus on my goals for the year. I set myself 3 main resolutions, and well progress hasn't been great. Those resolutions being: Learn to drive, Get a new job (ideally in the Shropshire area) and get a lot fitter with the help of the gym. Honestly, only the third one I've made any progress in, and to be honest I have been quite slack in the weeks leading up to my trip.

To that end, I leave you with a pic I snapped in my first visit to a Walmarts (proving that I still am really juvenile) and to watch this space for more US trip related posts.

A Photo a day...

Keeps the Camera Fairy away... erm, yeah that'll work. But if I can talk seriously for a moment, I came across a cool article through Digg (EDIT: it turns out, I didn't digg it back in the day, I've just dugg it now :S). The article in question highlighted the efforts of this guy, what he had done was to take a photo every day, right up until he died. The photos picked out in the article are very striking, my respect goes out to the guy for keeping up the photo a day especially in the hardship later on.

What an absolutely cool idea, it has been done before, famously there's those guys that have taken a self-portrait every day and formed a video of it, seeing how their hair changes and how they slowly get older - although strangely enough their expression never seems to change.

Anyways, I've been toying with the idea of getting a new digital camera since, well, my current one stopped working.

I've posted a few photos to the blog and of course my flickr but they have come from my phone and as we can see from the evidence, the quality is quite poor. I've taken what I've described as "graffiti" snaps - just random pictures of things that amuse or amaze me whilst I'm out of my travels. I was thinking of carrying on and doing the same but with a digital camera. Now the camera I would be aim to get would ideally be quite small, more importantly very slim so I can easily put it into my pocket. It would have to have a fair optical zoom and some kind of auto-steady feature to negate my shaking hands (see my latest rock band pic).
Unfortunately at the moment my budget does not extend to a luxury purchase such as a digital camera, maybe it'll be a birthday treat from me, but as soon as I have it it would be something very cool to start up. Expect more "graffiti" pics, maybe some random takes on my travels and I'll probs throw in some self-portraits for good measure.

I'm enjoying the artsy habit I've developed of taking snaps of cool bits of graffiti or silly/cool phrases on signs that I spot on my travels. I popped a few on facebook, and this one has been getting a load of attention:

At the moment, they have all been taken on my phone camera with questionable quality. The plan is to purchase a compact digital camera so I can have it on my person literally all the time. I think it would be a very cool habit to have a camera, see something smart, take a snap, and then stick it up on my flickr page, literally every day. Of course these snaps can be seen in the slideshow in the left sidebar, but check the flickr page for full screen goodness.

ey, just a quick post to say that I've added the Slideshow page element so it will now cycle through a couple of pics from my Flickr page. I've just uploaded a couple of pics off my mobile phone, so whilst the pics look alright in the element, full page they look pretty cock so apologies.
When I get a bit of time I will do some more posts, I've quite recently been dropping into rant mode, so it's always good to share that with the internets...
